About us
Who We Are
The Zimbabwe Community of South Australia, formed in 2018 is an association for the purpose of providing “members a forum for cooperative action and consensus building to promote unity, family support and opportunities” among people of Zimbabwean origin in South Australia.
Although the specific number of families el udes us, there has been a significant population of people of Zimbabwean origin settling in South Australia since the early 2000s. Common origin and interests have driven this relatively small yet growing community to connect, socialize, share and uplift each other through various channels.
Pursuant to this purpose, ZICOSA (Zimbabwe Community of South Australia) also focuses on promoting cultural and economic integration of its members into the SA community at large. Hence, we have an interest in cooperating with government, other associations and bodies within SA. As a body we espouse, non-interference in the political, religious and other beliefs held by Members of the Association; mutual respect; solidarity, friendship and charity, and, non-discrimination and equality.
We envisage a future that affords the multi-cultural nature of our society to flourish for the betterment of future generations in Australia and beyond. Prospective members and well-wishers are all welcome to be part of our Association.
